I recently had the good fortune to snap up a last minute place on a training course with the brilliant family photographer Nina Mace. I thought I already knew lots about photographing children and families outdoors but I learnt SO much.
This is my favourite image from the day. Although it was taken at around 3.30pm, it looks like dusk when the sun begins to set and the fairy lights come on. I achieved this with Nina's expert guidance on finding the right light. It's absolutely CRUCIAL when photographing children and families outdoors.
I'm certainly going to take all the techniques Nina taught me that day and put them into practise during my own client sessions. In fact, I've already had the opportunity as you can see...
